From Idea to Avatar: A 5-Minute Workflow
You don’t need hours to get a great pixel avatar. With the Square Face Generator or Oval Face Generator, you can go from “I want something cute” to “done” in about five minutes. Here’s a simple workflow.
Minute 1: Open and Randomize
Go to the home page and open either the Square Face or Oval Face Generator. Hit Random two or three times. Don’t overthink it — you’re looking for a base that’s close to the vibe you want (friendly, cool, silly, etc.).
Minute 2: Lock In the Face and Color
Pick a face shape and base color you like. This is your foundation. If the random face is already close, just nudge the color with the picker. Warm yellows and soft pinks work well for a friendly look; grays and blues for something cooler.
Minute 3: Eyes and Mouth
Eyes and mouth define the expression. Try one or two eye styles, then pick a mouth that matches. Use the position buttons to center them. If it feels off at full size, zoom out to 64px — that’s how most people will see it.
Minute 4: One or Two Extras
Add at most one or two extras: hair, a hat, or glasses. Avoid stacking too many. The goal is “readable at small size,” not “everything at once.”
Minute 5: Save and Use
Click SAVE, get your 256×256 PNG, and set it as your profile picture or share it in our Community. If you want to try a 3D version, use the Square Face Cube Generator from the home page.
That’s it. Five minutes, one avatar, no account required.
